Law of Attraction and Weight Loss for Teenagers

Loving yourself as is

Ladies (of all ages) … what would it take for all of us to just love ourselves, just the way we are, with no judgment on our weight or how old we look or how we look compared to other woman? It is so important to find that beautiful soul within you and to see it no matter what … no matter what anyone else says, no matter what you see on the internet or no matter what you see on TV or in magazines.

Unconditional Self-love is HUGE and radiates a beauty that can’t be topped!

The reason for this post is because I had a 15-year old teenage girl contact me to find out about my ‪‎Law of Attraction‬ weight loss coaching services.  She found me on the internet, read my entire website and felt inspired and excited to reach out and call me.  She left me a voicemail message that was so sweet and expressed her eagerness to connect with me to find out more about how she could leverage The Law of Attraction to successfully lose weight and to keep it off.  After reading the book The Secret, she realized that her thoughts played a role in her weight loss journey and wanted to learn more.

She was so excited that I returned her call! (Of course I would, I run a business doing this, but I guess she didn’t believe that she would get to speak with me personally.  That’s one thing that I believe in – to connect with people and really speak to them LIVE – something that is being lost in this social media world – but I’ll save that rant for another blog post!!)

We spoke for a while and I inquired about what her self talk looks like on a daily basis. She told me that each day she looks in the mirror and sees a fat person (feels like she is in a “fat wet suit”), she thinks that people look at her and think the same, she doesn’t feel comfortable in her own skin. We talked some more and I helped her understand that her beauty was here right now and is not contingent upon that number on the scale. But really, think about it … do you know how many young people are feeling “less than”, not confident, “ugly”, because of the messages that are sent to us through social media, TV, magazines, celebrities, etc.?!

Teenagers are very impressionable and pick up the energy that is being modeled around them.  That’s why it is so important as parents to teach your children that confidence and self-love comes from within and is something you can choose.  It’s NOT dependent on the color of your hair, the color of your skin, the size of your body, how many “material” things you have, what type of clothes you are wearing … your self-worth and your value is something you choose and see for yourself, by looking inward and focusing on your inner beauty.

Let’s all model “amping up the self love” and not have it contingent upon our outer look. That’s not what it’s all about. If you have JOY and love within, that joy radiates outward and you are abundantly attractive!!!

If you are a parent of a teenage daughter, why not think twice next time you look in that mirror and say out loud “I look fat”, “I don’t like the way my hair looks”, “I’m getting old”, “this outfit looks horrible on me”?! What are you really teaching your daughters when you do this?  It does leave an impression and NOT one that is going to help your teenager’s confidence and happiness in life!

I just had to express how I feel about this topic – especially as someone who used to be over 70 lbs overweight. I know what those “fat thoughts” are like and they sure don’t make you feel good or help you with enjoying this beautiful journey called life!  And whether you believe this or not, your negative self-talk and beating up on yourself because you are overweight actually hinders your ability to successfully lose that excess weight and takes away from your overall joy.  That’s the Law of Attraction in action.

If you are feelingLook in mirror and say I love you! “fat” today, can you look in the mirror and say to yourself “I love you, I really love you” and mean it, despite what the scale says or despite any other physical trait you have that others might deem as different?

At first, this exercise will feel awkward, but that’s because you are not used to being kind to yourself.

But why shouldn’t you be kind to #1 … YOU?!

Please join me in sending abundant love and light to that 15-year old girl who contacted me and all other young girls (and boys) that feel less than because of the way they look or just because they are different from the rest of their peers. BIG Lovin’ Life HUGS being sent their way!!
