So, by now you have heard about or seen that the 2014 Grammy’s hosted a monumental Wedding Ceremony, where both gay and straight couples exchanged rings and said “I do” officiated on stage by Queen Latifah! One of the couples was interviewed on CNN and their story really struck me from a Law of Attraction standpoint. It’s the classic example of Law of Attraction in action when it comes to living out your lifelong desires and dreams.
The couple who was being interviewed on CNN was Yawar Charlie and Jason Miller. Yawar mentioned in his interview that he “always had a dream that Madonna was going to sing at his wedding”. He didn’t know HOW it was going to happen, he has just been manifesting this since he was 8 years old and his dream came true! AMAZING! Now, my coaching clients know what the lesson is here – he didn’t know HOW, but he still held on to that dream. That’s what he wanted. That’s what he envisioned. He probably had no flipping clue HOW it was going to happen or when, but it did AND it happened at the Grammy Awards! OMG! What a manifestation. What a way for that dream to unfold. He didn’t chase after it, it came to him and with the perfect sequence of events leading up to it!
This is Law of Attraction in action in its purest form. You don’t need to know HOW. You don’t have to worry about it feeling too BIG or not possible. Anything is possible if you hold on to that dream and believe it right down to the core of your being!
And I can’t finish this blog post without saying something about the significance of that wedding ceremony and how special it was to gay couples all across the country. Yawar said that the response that they felt from celebrities all around them was beautiful – it was like “Getting a BIG HUG”, he said. Because people were open to it. People were crying and feeling how beautiful love is, straight or gay, black or white – it just didn’t matter. It’s about love and forming a union to express that love and a lifelong commitment to one person – someone who will be there during the ups and downs, someone who will love you unconditionally, no matter what, someone who will be your cheerleader when you need to be uplifted, someone who only asks that you be YOU and they love you just the way you are. The song by Maklemore and Ryan Lewis, Same Love is an “anthem for equality” (in all forms – not just for gay people). This ceremony put a smile on my face. It made me realize that we have made progress when it comes to equality. Can we make more progress? Of course we can. But this leads to a few more Law of Attraction lessons => Celebrate what IS working. Focus on the good. Focus on the love. Be grateful for what you do have and the positives that have transpired. And just know, right down to the core of your being that things will keep on getting better. Trust more. Believe in your dreams and know that no matter HOW BIG it appears right at this moment that your dream can come true if you just believe! Ditch the HOW and let the Universe unfold that part!
Congratulations to all the couples who married at the Grammy Awards. Wishing you a life filled with abundant love, laughter and pure joy!
